Diane J Ford, VMD
Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Diane hails from New Jersey but has lived in Central PA since 1992. She graduated from Lebanon Valley College (1996) and Penn State College of Medicine (2004) before graduating from The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She worked in private practice for 1 year before going out on her own. She began Dr. Diane’s Mobile Veterinary Service in July 2011. The practice grew over the next 4 years, allowing Dr. Diane to open The Vetting Zoo in April 2015. Dr. Diane lives in Campbelltown with her dogs and cats. In her spare time, Dr. Diane enjoys working with rescue animals, playing soccer, going to the gym, spending time with family and friends, and snuggling with her furkids.
Devin Greener, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Devin grew up in Lancaster, PA, and graduated from Clarion University in 2022. After completing four years at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, she returned to her home state. While originally shy around cats, her experience volunteering at Clarion Paws during her undergraduate studies introduced her to her cat, Merritt, who inspired her love for felines. This experience initiated her involvement with rescue work, and she is eager to collaborate with all of TVZ’s rescue partners. Outside of her professional work with animals, Dr. Devin enjoys visiting the beach, riding motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.
Nikkie Often
Practice Manager
Central PA has always been where Nikkie calls home. She graduated from Northern York County High School and Cumberland-Perry Vo-Tech in June 2009. She did move to Pittsburgh in July 2009 to continue her education at Vet Tech Institute. She then transferred to an online school through Penn Foster. Nikkie married her husband, Steve, in May 2014 on their 5th anniversary of dating. They have 2 rescue dogs, Sherman (as shown in picture) and Rocky Road. She began working with the practice when it was Dr. Diane’s Mobile Veterinary Service, in August 2011. Her beautiful baby girl, Peyton, came into the world in June 2017. Nikkie’s hobbies include spending time with her husband and daughter, upgrading their house, taking the dogs for walks or swims, kayaking, and 4-wheeling with friends.
Brittney Halbleib
Receptionist Manager
Brittney graduated from Dauphin County technical school in 2016 from the veterinarian assistant program. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to do after school but then she started working at petsmart and knew she wanted to work in a vet hospital. She currently has a lab/coonhound mix named Scooby and a cat named Tiger. In her free time, she likes spending time with her family and friends and likes to go bowling.
Charissa Smith
Veterinary Technician
Charissa grew up in Enola, PA. She graduated from Cumberland Valley High School. Charissa joined the Vetting Zoo in November 2012. In May of 2017, she moved to Dillsburg, with her then-boyfriend, Bret. In October 2020 they got married. They share their home with three rescue dogs (Rip a German Shepherd, Martin a Shih Tzu mix, Potato a French Bulldog), three cats (Carl, Kevin and Scooter). Charissa is always rescuing animals and bringing them home. Fun fact she found Kevin on a mobile call and Martin on the way to a vaccine clinic. In her free time, she likes to foster animals, go hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, and spending time with family and friends.
Breanna Nichols
Veterinary Technician
Bre grew up in the small town of Dublin, Indiana. After graduating from high school, she moved to Pennsylvania to help her aunt and uncle, who introduced her to Dr. Diane and the team in 2016. She loves embracing her wild side and isn’t afraid to be a little goofy. Whether she’s making people laugh, meeting unusual animals, or diving into a new adventure, she believes life is more fun when you don’t take yourself too seriously. A lifelong animal lover, Bre has a special passion for creepy crawlies, scaly critters, and furry companions. Her home is shared with one cat, Lucifur; three snakes, Hannibal Lecter, Rakdos, and Artimus; a bearded dragon named Toast!; a frog named Sap; and a tarantula named Madame Octa. Outside of work, Bre enjoys playing video games, reading, playing Magic: The Gathering, and embarking on adventures in Dungeons & Dragons. During the Halloween season, she also volunteers at local haunted houses, embracing her love of all things spooky. Whether she’s caring for her animals, rolling dice with friends, or bringing smiles to those around her, Bre’s enthusiasm, creativity, and playful personality are always on display.
Vickie Bucher
Veterinary Assistant
Vickie works part-time at TVZ, after spending 35 years with the PA State Police. She enjoys gardening, Penn State football, trapping feral cats, and volunteering at Steelton Community Cats. Vickie shares her Harrisburg home with her husband, Clark. They have a German Shepherd, Axel, and 4 felines (Eddie, Belle, Angel, and Rocky). She also fosters kittens when needed.
Kerrie Sartor
Veterinary Technician
Kerrie grew up in Middletown, PA. After graduating high school she wasn’t sure of a career path so she took a year off of school. After growing up with animals her whole life, then working at a small kennel for a while and PetSmart for a few years, she realized that she wanted to pursue a career in the veterinary industry which is what led her to getting her Veterinary Assistant Certification in 2020. She currently has a German Shepherd mix named Jax and a guinea pig named Limpy at home. In her spare time she enjoys going on day trips to beaches or zoos, doing DIY projects and spending quality time with her family, friends and boyfriend.
Liz Wenger
Veterinary Technician
Liz grew up in Lancaster, PA, and graduated from Palmyra Area High School in 2020. She then went to the University of Lynchburg and received her B.S. in Biomedical Science. In college, she worked as a llama groomer and was vice president of the Westover Honors College. She joined the team at TVZ shortly after graduation. In addition to being a technician here, she is an educator at ZooAmerica. With all of her animal experience, she hopes to attend Veterinary School in the coming years.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, working out, and spending time with her friends and family. She is still involved in a research project at the University of Lynchburg.
Briana Davis
Veterinary Technician
Originally from Annville, PA, Briana graduated from Annville Cleona High School In 2020 and attended Eastern University, where she pursued a degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology. During her studies, Briana discovered her true calling in the veterinary field and transitioned her focus to working at TVZ, where she is gaining valuable hands-on experience and expanding her skills. Briana is continuing her education, currently working toward completing her Biology degree to prepare for veterinary school in the future. When she’s not at work she enjoys hanging out with friends, reading, and working out.
Ella Smith
Veterinary Technician
Ella grew up in Myerstown, PA and graduated from Eastern Lebanon County High School in 2023. She currently attends Penn State University where she is pursuing a major in Animal Science with a minor in Equine Science. Ella joined TVZ in the summer of 2025 and continues to work over summer and winter breaks from college. After graduation, she plans on applying to veterinary school to become a mixed animal veterinarian. Ella grew up in 4-H and FFA and has a passion for animals and agriculture. In her free time, Ella enjoys riding her horse, Teenie, reading, fishing, trap shooting, and spending time with her pets. She has two Golden Retrievers named Tucker and Finley, and seven cats (Fuzzy, Little, Monkey, Hei Hei, Pip, Peanut, and Frankie).
Donna Bingaman
Receptionist
Donna and her husband Dave reside in North Annville, PA with their fur babies – Abby, a Chocolate Labrador, Bella, a senior rescued Labrador/Beagle mix and their cats, Perry and Harley. They are parents of three grown children and have six grandchildren. Before coming to TVZ, Donna was employed for ten years at a private Pharmacy in Lebanon, PA and then three years at a previous Veterinary Hospital. She has a strong compassion and love for all animals. Donna enjoys spending time with family and friends and her hobbies include going antiquing and projects around the house with her husband, crafts with friends, crocheting, cross stitching, reading, and walking her dogs along the countryside on warm days. She enjoys working with the TVZ family who all have a huge love and heart for the animals they treat daily.

Karen Spidle
Receptionist
Karen lives in Harrisburg with her rescue dog, Seneca. Her love of animals started at a young age. She started volunteering at local animal shelters in 2010 and also at a local wildlife rehabilitation center and a rescue horse farm. When she is not working at The Vetting Zoo or volunteering, Karen is busy painting for her art group, Cheddar Paws Dog Art, which helps overlooked shelter animals get adopted through their art.
Marie Grube
Veterinary Assistant
Marie retired in 2025 from the healthcare industry. She is thrilled to be able to pursue her passion of providing care to animals with the amazing team at TVZ. She has multiple animals at home including cats, dog and sheep. Marie enjoys volunteering with Gunner’s Crusade as well as spending time golfing, gardening and other outdoor activities.
Rick Harhigh
IT guy
Rick grew up in Mechanicsburg, PA. He graduated from Cedar Cliff High School. Rick has been in the IT field for well over 30 years. He’s worked in Nevada at casino’s securing networks as a Network Engineer along with IT work and also in New York as a Systems Engineer and Network Engineer handling multiple locations with over 300+ remote sites.
Rick has been with the Vetting Zoo since 2017 and also is a private contractor for the U.S Government along with running his own IT business and does automotive work at his other job. He has 3 energetic dogs, 2 of which are rescues. (Benelli a Rottweiler, Wesker a German Shepherd mix and Kassie, a Rottweiler).
Rick has a daughter, Mattie who was born in November 2006. In his free time, Rick enjoys hiking, off-roading, 4 wheeling, taking photographs with his digital camera and anything that involves electronics.
